Spring Green March 10, 2023

I enjoy the color green. When I was growing up in Florida, I had a giant box of crayons. One of the colors was spring green. I never used that color. It didn't make sense to me. I saw it as a weird light yellowy green. I had never seen anything in the real world that color. Now, after having spent several springs in Texas, I get it. The color doesn't last long. When the weather is right all in one day it seems the tree skeletons with waiting buds, unfurl their new leaves and the sun is out glinting through brand-new leaves. The light is amazing, and the entire atmosphere is spring green. The light is sparkly and new, the trees are bright, the sun shines through the new leaves and the light reflects off of them. It is the prettiest color, almost as good as the blue glow before sunrise and the golden glow before sunset. But you have to wait all year to enjoy it for a few weeks. I am very glad different trees get their leaves at different times.
